Glock 43 Versus Glock 43x

Since we had some extra time with the Glock 43x, we brought in our friend and certified Glock gunsmith Kyle Braschler of "The Armorers Fix" to give CrossBreed fans an exclusive in-depth analysis of Glocks new pistol.

Is The Glock 48 The New \

The extended height has another advantage over the Glock 43: room for more rounds. While the Glock 43 has a 6-round flush magazine, the 43x has an extra 4 rounds, bringing the number of newbies with a flush magazine up to 10. When it comes to magazine capacity, bigger is better and the 43x will definitely give you 4 extra rounds.

You can always add extensions and/or magazine extensions to your Glock 43 as there are so many options on the market today. From Pierce Grip to Shield Arms, you're only limited by your budget.

Not only does the Glock 43x have serrated front pullers, but it also has an nPVD finish compared to the standard nDLC Gen5 finish on the Glock 43.

The jury is still out on how nPVD will fare against nDLC, but hey, it looks good!

In this case, let's compare the Glock 43 and the Glock 43X, a pair of subcompact single-barreled pistols from the same manufacturer.

Glock pistols have a well-deserved reputation for quality, accuracy and reliability. They are known for their high capacity, double magazines and polymer frames. It wasn't until April 14th, 2015 when they released the Glock 43 that the 9mm single barrel concealed carry pistol became their forte.

Glock 43x Optimized: Customizing The G43x

The G43 follows the slightly smaller G42 single chambered in 380 ACP. The G43's main competitor at the time was the S&W M&P Shield series of pistols. The Shield was designed as a small carry pistol and Glock realized that this was the market share they needed to go after.

However, some G43 shooters have expressed dissatisfaction with Glock's new carry pistol. However, they found the handle to be too small. For some it is too narrow, and for others the grip length is too short for accurate and comfortable shooting. A simple answer might be to add a magazine extension, which can increase magazine capacity if desired, but a longer grip is really needed.

Glock answered the call by producing the G43X. A slightly larger single-barreled concealed carry pistol with a longer grip and a 10-round magazine capacity instead of the 6-round magazine of the G43. So which one is better? More on the 43 and 43X below.

Glock 43 Versus Glock 43x

The markings on these two pistols are so similar that those new to shooting or new to the Glock family of firearms may be a bit confused. However, they are very different and have their own unique advantages, so a more detailed comparison is necessary.

Glock 43 Vs 43x: A Face Off

While at first glance the two Glock subcompact pistols look similar, the differences between the 43 and 43X are considerable. Judging by naming conventions, it might be better for Glock to use a different number in the nomenclature than the Add X.

As mentioned earlier, the G43 is a compact, single magazine concealed carry pistol. You could really call it a Glock subcompact pistol because it has such a small footprint. The barrel is 3.41 inches long and the gun is about 6.26 inches long. This gun measures 1.08 inches wide by 4.25 inches tall. The factory magazine holds 6 rounds and weighs 20.64 oz.

By comparison, the slightly larger Glock 43X has the same barrel length but a slightly longer overall length of 6.05 inches. Since the 10-round magazine requires a slightly longer grip frame, he increased the length of the slide by 3/4" to 5.04". It weighs 23.07 or The main noticeable difference is that the slides have an nPVD coating that gives them a silver color instead of the monochrome black of the G43. However, Glock also recently released the 43X with black sleeves.

Neither pistol has the accessory rail that has been a staple of almost all Glock models for the past 20 years. This was probably done to increase the stealth of each gun. However, some companies like Streamlight offer visible white lights and visible lasers that surround the trigger guard mounted on the weapon. These give the shooter the ability to add a compact and sturdy light to attach to the weapon.

Glock 42 Vs 43: What Is The Difference?

Newer versions of the 43X include an optical mounting plate as an upgrade. Such an option does not currently exist for the G43.

The only other major difference between the two guns is that the 43X slide has forward-facing serrations milled into the slide, while the G43 only has rearward-facing serrations milled into the slide. This is a great option for shooters with insufficient arm strength to adjust the slide while holding only the rear lugs. It's a good idea to take a stress test, especially during a tactical pistol shooting course.

A byproduct of the larger G43X was the increased capacity of the factory magazine. In this case it is 10 rounds, not the 6 round capacity of the G43. It should be noted that the G43 and G43X magazines are not interchangeable. So when you're looking for a spare magazine for any gun, double check that you're getting the right magazine.

Glock 43 Versus Glock 43x

If you have larger hands, the extra length of the G43X's grip, its longer magazine and higher capacity might make sense.

The Warrior Glocks

Subcompact pistols like the G43 and G43X are not ideal for bolt action due to their short aiming radius, compact ergonomics, and relatively light weight. From reading reviews online or in various gun magazines, both pistols are reasonably accurate depending on the ammo and skill level of the shooter.

The average accuracy of the G43 and G43X appears to be within 2 to 3 inches out to 50 feet. This is something that could be improved with the inclusion of an aftermarket trigger or even a small red dot sight such as the Shield Systems sight that is small enough to fit unnoticeably in the slide of these compact pistols. Upgrade your Glock today with our aftermarket triggers and other upgrades!

Depending on the shooter, the difference in accuracy can be small or large. Archers with particularly large hands may find the slightly wider and longer grip on the 43X more accurate than the 43. Archers with much smaller hands may find the opposite. In fact, most shooters probably won't notice a difference in accuracy. Through trial and error, you may find yourself borrowing a friend's gun for practice at the range, or frequenting an indoor range and deciding which is best for you at a well-stocked rental facility.

Small guns like this are often unfairly criticized
